The HomeMade Single Family members Home is the very first residential project completed by London-primarily based design firm – Bureau de Alter. The project involves two neighboring properties and merged them into a single family members house. The extension supplies the great kitchen and living space at the back side of the house. The connection of the two properties was carried out by opening up the dividing walls and creating an opening that emphasizes visibility, unification and accessibility to each sides.

The dream house follows a layout with space flow that has been altered – which was changed in the course of the implementation of the home floor plans. By this virtue, the house has been created into a single loved ones space therefore identifying a new “heart and soul” of the house.

The really “core” of this contemporary home was the oak-wrapped box sitting on the point exactly where the original property and the new household location meet. The box contains storage items, partitions and new cloakroom. The edge sections of the timber have been peeled at proper angles, which gave rise to the open staircase top to the upper level. If you expand your view beyond this focal point of style, there you will see the great kitchen and dining space – which was created by enclosing the complete back façade in glass. This produced a pulling impact of the two buildings with each other via the glazing.

The façade is 11 meters lengthy with tall sliding glass doors that essentially blur the boundary of the exteriors from the interiors. The glass doors look to climb more than the original structure at the edges and this created skylights as nicely as windows getting the identical information and finishing.

Interiorly, the original features of the previous structure have been preserved and reused wherever needed or possible. Even so, at the rear side the new extension has adopted the interior design and style of the initial floor exactly where new windows develop massive glass walls for the bathroom style and there are points that developed the seating.

I really like the entirety of the house – because here you’ll uncover the properly-received differences of the old and new as nicely as light and dark aspects.
